About

Welcome to Switzerland in Color! The site for all things Swiss from mountains, lakes to people and food. Get tips on tours, accommodation, passes and more.

So, to start off with let’s talk a little about Switzerland. It is a stunningly beautiful landlocked little country in western Europe with a population of over 8 million. The official currency is the Swiss Francs, but Euros are widely accepted. There are lots of ATMs and you can change money in reputable places like banks and the inside of train stations. I always avoid dealing with shady looking fellas on the street, you may get a better rate but end up with counterfeits or the victim of a scam.

Apart from the heavenly scenery, fancy watches and being a stickler for rules and regulations Switzerland is known for being a very expensive destination and this is the truth. However, there are ways to save and still have an unforgettable holiday. I will tell you all about this as we progress…

You can’t speak German, French, Romansh or Italian but know English? Don’t worry everyone I met in Switzerland spoke English with me. Europeans are known for being multilingual and the Swiss are no exception. Also, the crime rate here is very low and scammers don’t flock so you can relax that death grip on your purse and just bask in the beauty. I never had any experience of a criminal nature during my stay.

About me

My love affair with this breath-taking country begun recently on my first visit and I intend to keep returning. I decided to launch this site because I have tons of beautiful photos just lying there on my SD card which I want to share, and I still think of all the memorable experiences I had. When I was planning my trip surprisingly there was no information overload online.  Many travel bloggers just skipped this country altogether or were so worried about expenses that they just spent a few days and did very little.

Switzerland is so unforgettable and bewitching that you get the itch to return as soon as you leave. While everywhere I laid eyes on was beautiful I will mainly post about activities I personally engaged it. There is so much to enjoy but unfortunately for non-residents it is impossible to cover a lot in a short period of time. However, I want to enrich this site with future visits.

I hope this site at least helps you out with a little information on this spectacular country when you decide to do your marathon Google search for your visit to Switzerland.

Thank you so much for visiting, I really appreciate it. If you have a minute to spare do tell me your thoughts, experiences and share your tips as well.

Yours Truly,

Ms. Wanderlust
